Introduction

When I had to quit sailing I knew that I will have to find an alternative. Windsurfing seemed to be the obvious choice so I spoke to one of my windsurfer friend to help me choose a starting gear. He told me to try kiteboarding right away. I remember I was so clueless what kiteboarding could be that I had to Google it. One of the first articles I read was naming it an extremely addictive sport. At that time I found this statement really dumb, a cheap slogan while now there is not a single day that I would not want to be on the water.

The first time I went on a kite camp was in Egypt, where I realized that there are two types of kiteboarders. The ones who simply enjoy whatever the sport has to offer and the ones who are spending lots of time searching further information about the sport and wanting to understand the physics behind the fun. I am an engineer and an enthusiastic kiteboarder from the second group. This is reflected in my temper, my interests and my writings. That is where “kite wise” comes from.

This website brings you the best kite spots, kite movies, kite music and you can also find here the latest news on kite gear, my travels, my tricks.
